Down two in the eighth inning on Monday night and the bases loaded, Jesus Aguilar ripped a single up the middle driving in a pair to tie the game at four. Giovanny Urshela completed the comeback with a smash to leftfield scoring Alex Monsalve giving Lake County a 5-4 lead. The Captains avoided the sweep with a 6-4 win over Lansing.
In the first inning, Lansing loaded the bases and scored a run on an RBI ground out by KC Hobson to give the Lugnuts a 1-0 lead.
Captains tied the game up at one, in the second inning after a leadoff double by Jesus Aguilar. Aguilar came into score on a Jordan Casas sacrifice fly to centerfield.
Eli Boike lead the third inning off for Lansing with a triple after ball was misplayed by LeVon Washington. Jake Marinick drove in Boike for a 2-1 lead.
Lake County loaded the bases with nobody out in the third inning. Washington hit into a double play that scored Moises Montero to tie the game at 2-2.
Bryson Namba belted a two run shot in the fourth inning to leftfield giving Lansing the lead 4-2.
Kyle Petter (1-2) picked up his first win of the season working 1.1 innings, no hits and three strike outs. Dayton Marze (3-4) took the loss allowing four runs on five hits in just one inning of work.
