Thank you to Simon Mail from the Watford Observer, for providing the match report.
Oxhey Jets produced a gutsy performance as they were beaten 2-1 at home to Hendon in the FA Cup.
The Jets were competing in the second qualifying round for only the second time in their history and pushed the Ryman Premier promotion chasers all the way in front of a record crowd of nearly 400 fans.
Oxhey were harshly punished after conceding the opener three minutes into injury time in the first half.
Ant Shepherd allowed a player to turn and get in their cross which was finished off by Grenadian international Elliott Charles.
But the hosts reponded by equalising three minutes into the second half when man-of-the-match Andy Lomas set up Lewis Putman for their goal.
Hendon rallied after the setback and struck the decisive blow on the hour mark when Greg Ngoyi hammered in the winner.
Oxhey kept pushing for the equaliser and came close to forcing a replay when Shepherd headed just over the bar
