Stateside Soccer: Brooklyn suffer 2-1 defeat in Boston

A brief statement regarding the opening game of Brooklyn Italians season.  They travelled to Boston at the weekend.

BOSTON -- The Brooklyn Italians open their National Premier Soccer League season, dropping a 2-1 decision to Mass United FC on Sunday.


The italians’ lone goal was scored by 18-year-old home grown product Alex Gotsabina in the 40th minute as the Italians took the lead.

"We had the opportunity to win the game, but we were not able to convert our opportunities," Italians coach Tony Noto said.

On May 27, Brooklyn Italians travel to Lehigh University’s Ulrich Sports Complex in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania to take on FC Sonic. The winner receives National Premier Soccer League automatic berth in the Lamar US Open Cup.

Two days later on May 29, Brooklyn Italians plays its first home games of the National Premier Soccer League, as they host Mass United FC at 5:00 PM at John Dewey High School.
