Thank you to our friends at Premiership Rugby for the update on Round 7 matches.
Harlequins director of rugby Conor O'Shea admitted that his side had not played anything like their best rugby but did enough to earn a dramatic 31-28 Aviva Premiership win against London Irish.
Tom Casson went over in controversial style with the last play of the game to leave the Exiles with only a losing bonus point and restore Quins to top spot in the table.
The 22-year-old centre appeared to knock on while diving over the tryline but the television match official ruled the ball had bounced off his knee not his hand and the try was awarded, much to the delight of O'Shea, whose side were nearly undone by a fantastic kicking display from Ian Humphreys who finished with 23 points.
"We know that at the end of the season you look back and you have games like this," he said.
"It's a massive four points for us to come away with because Irish played well and it's a tough place to come.
"Everyone forgets certain games at the end of the season - it's all about playing your best all season and fortunately this was one we got away with without playing at our best.
"I think we really picked up the intensity in the final five or six minutes after we went behind and that was crucial."
The second clash on Sunday was also a London derby as London Wasps saw off London Welsh 29-19, flying wingers Christian Wade and Tom Varndell both crossing twice at Adams Park.
Franck Montanella and Phil Mackenzie both crossed for the Exiles who looked set for a losing bonus point before Nicky Robinson's late penalty.
On Saturday Gloucester produced the performance of the round as they overcame Leicester Tigers 27-21 in a thrilling encounter at Kingsholm.
Freddie Burns and Charlie Sharples crossed to put Gloucester in control after a dominant first half, but the Tigers fought their way back into the game - forcing a penalty try from a scrum as Gloucester's set-piece started creaking.
Cue the magical intervention of James Simpson-Daniel with Gloucester 20-14 ahead, the speedy wing beating four Leicester defenders in a scintillating counter attack before putting in Fijian Akapusi Qera for what turned out to be the crucial score.
Though Tigers fought back with a penalty try with Jimmy Cowan and Rob Cook sinbinned for the Cherry and Whites, Gloucester held on at the death - leaving Simpson-Daniel delighted with the way the team responded to their numerical disadvantage.
"When we were down to 13 I was just saying to the guys to make sure that they kept their urgency - I was playing scrum-half which is something I have not done for a long time," he said.
"The crowd made a huge amount of difference to us, especially when we were down to 13 men so we have to give a massive thanks to them .
"We have got to enjoy celebrating this now and then settle down again and focus on the game against Harlequins next week because that is going to be another tough one."
Bath also won on Saturday - holding off a late Exeter fightback to preserve an 35-year unbeaten streak against their South West neighbours.
Ben Williams and Kyle Eastmond went over in the first half before Francois Louw added a third after the break.
Exeter battled back with Brett Sturgess and Ignacio Mieres while Dan Hipkiss was sent off but Bath fly-half Stephen Donald held his nerve from a late penalty to secure the win.
At Franklin's Gardens Saracens's much vaunted defence was dominant as they secured a 16-6 victory away at Northampton Saints - Alex Goode crossing for the vital try, while Owen Farrell enjoyed a perfect day from the kicking tee with four from four attempts.
And on Friday Andy Goode's 64th-minute try proved to be the difference as Worcester ran out 23-16 winners over basement boys Sale.
Sale were unlucky to lose and come away without a bonus point, Mark Cueto and Nick MacLeod bagging a try either side of half-time as the visitors made a game of it.
But in the end Worcester prevailed, David Lemi's first-half try setting things in motion before Goode's try capped an 18-point haul to record only their second win of the season.
