Catching up with games, this was Ian’s (he is the one on the right as you look at the photo) report from two weeks ago. Yesterdays report will be with us tomorrow. I know – lost myself in all this.
C.D. TENERIFE B 1 LANZAROTE 1
28th November 2011
The Rojillos came from behind to pick up a point and move up to seventh in the league table after an entertaining game with plenty of goal mouth action.
The game began at a fast pace with chances for both sides, the best of which fell to the Lanzarote Captain Rosmen but his effort went narrowly wide.
The home side took the lead in the 23rd minute from midfielder Saúl but only seven minutes later and Lanzarote were level. Rosmen won the ball well in the air and fed fellow strike partner Alex Yunes and the 22 year old fired home.
Tenerife finished the half on the front foot with two good opportunities from Joshua and Saúl but the Rojillos held on and went into the break with the score 1-1.
Lanzarote were much more positive in the opening stages of the second half and pinned their opponents back into their final third but their inability to find the net was evident to see.
As the game entered into the final minutes both teams had good chances to win the match but the contest ended fairly in a draw. Next Sunday the Rojillos will be looking to extend on their five match unbeaten run when they host second from bottom side C.D. Laguna.
