Great Britain's women's basketball team have lost the opening game of their two-match series against the Czech Republic 67-56 in Prague.
Having been well behind for most of the match, Team GB moved to within three points of their high-ranked opponents midway through the third quarter only to lose ground again thereafter.
Jo Leedham led the scoring with 13 points and Rose Anderson weighed in with 10 points and four rebounds in just 13 minutes on court.
British Basketball performance director Chris Spice told www.gbbasketball.com: "We competed really well with a world-class team, used our bench and everyone played some good minutes.
"We gave a lot of good minutes to the youngsters and they held up very well against quality opposition.
"The first quarter we were slow to start and didn't really recover from then but we pushed them all the way, so we're very pleased with a good work-rate and good effort by everyone."
Guard Natalie Stafford found plenty of positives going into Wednesday''s second match between the sides.
"We're looking forward to the game tomorrow," she said. "We've realised we can hang with them and give them a run for their money, so it will be a much better performance tomorrow.
"We gave them a run for their money and got things going defensively."
