LDN 12: King still reigns

Post taking in full, with thanks, from Team GB and provided by the Press Association.

Wiltshire rider Kitty King maintained her overnight lead in the Barbury International Horse Trials feature class on Friday.

King went top of the CIC three-star leaderboard with a dressage score of 43.6 penalties on Zidante.

And with just under 30 combinations of a 110-strong field still left to go before the weekend's showjumping and cross-country phases, it was proving a difficult performance to match.

Great Britain international Pippa Funnell went closest of the morning starters, posting 45.6 with Or Noir de la Loge that saw her climb into fifth place.

But although fellow Brit Mary King and Imperial Cavalier recorded a solid mark of 49.2, it was only good enough for 17th spot. King's Olympic colleague Tina Cook was among the late afternoon contenders.

Laura Collett, a top-10 finisher at Badminton last year, won two of the day's novice classes on Brookfield Cult King and Longbarn Maisie, while there was also a success for Australian rider Christopher Burton with Graf Liberty.
