It's the Essex(ish) derby to end all Essex(ish) derbies!! Pete 'the IceMan' Lewis would like to see you all at the Riverside in the Essex Capital, on Sunday night. While we're here, pop along to the Ice Rink in Romford on Saturday night, pay a visit to our friends at the Brickyard opposite, for a nice drink and a fantastic meal.
This Saturday sees the Chieftains head to Romford for part 1 of what will be an intense nowhere-to-hide lay-it-all-on-the-line play-off match up between two of the fiercest rivals in British ice hockey.
Sunday night sees the all important second leg at the Riverside and likely to be in front of a full-house. Over 1000 fans came through the doors last time out and more are expected this time as there is everything to lose for both teams. Not only will the losing side have lost their place in the final against either Invicta or Wightlink, but they will have to put up with the summer of gloating from the other side!!
It's bound to be packed houses both nights and the atmosphere will be electric.
Fans are asked to be at the rink well in time for doors opening so we can get everyone in and in their places (You won't need seats for this one!) ready for the all important puck drop at 18:30 approx.
We all know our friends from down the road don't like noise, so make sure you dig out every noise making implement you have. Whether it be drums, horns (not air horns), vuvuzelas, rattles, clappers, babies, pensioners, who or whatever you can find. GET THEM ALONG TO THE RIVERSIDE AND SEE ESSEX'S FINEST GO AGAINST THEIR ESSEX/LONDON RIVALS!!!
Tickets are £3:50 kids, £5 students (With NUS card), £8 adults, £20 family.
