Sunday was the start of the F.A.Cup or, if you prefer, March to the Arch 3.
Our FIRST dip into the competition for the 2011/2012 season was our traditional visit to Oakside and our curtain raisers, Barkingside FC.
True to form, the 'side were unable to pass the Extra Preliminary Round and went down 3-1 to Hertford Town. Hertford now take the lead in the merit table, with 8 points for an away win and leave the 'side with 1 point.
A positive note, Barkingside enjoyed a bumper crowd of nearly 200. Hertford Town now await the winners of the Barking v Burnham Ramblers replay, to find out their opponents for the Preliminary Round.
