Sol y Futbol: Lanzarote start new season with a bore draw.
Sol y Futbol is back and as always Ian Lane will be posting regular reports concerning UD Lanzarote.
If you are on the island, pop along to Arrecife watch a game - you can meet Ian, he is always there. If UD Lanzarote are away, pop along to Teguise Market and visit Ian's stalls - full of merchandise and have a chat.
This is a second rate translation from my very poor Spanish, thankfully Ian will be tecnologised (I've just made that word up)soon.
UD Lanzarote 0 CD Corralejo 0
The 2011/2012 season got under way with an uninspiring 0-0 draw, in a very hot Arrecife.
In truth the match was a poor opener, with little action created in either penalty box.
Lanzarote had the best of the chances in the 1st Half, with a couple of wasted opportunities. The game, however, was mainly played out in the midfield.
The second half came and went as much as the 1st period. The only exception, that when a chance did present itself, it fell to CD Corralejo.
UD Lanzarote stepped up the pressure, as the match drew to a conclusion, but with no result for their efforts.
The game eventually ended in stalemate, a fair result as neither side showed enough composure or quality to earn all three points. Tomorrow UD Lanzarote travel to Las Palmas Athletic, when hopefully Ian's typewriter will have the ribbons repaired and keys inked.
UD Lanzarote: Santi Lampón, Taja, Sixto, Adrián Martín, David Dorta, Jotha, Vladimir (Rosmen 76), Echedey, Alex Yunes (Gustavo García 56), Ayoze Pérez y Jonathan Torres
CD Corralejo: Jero, Alberto, Antonio, Oliver, Cristian, Iván, Fali, Isa, Dino, Pablo (Rubén 80), Héctor
